| Besides participating in the mission work of
the United Church of Christ at state, national, and global levels, we
support several local missions. |
| Food Pantry/Thrift Store - The Washington County Food Pantry supplies food for needy
families in an emergency situation. Formerly located in the
Episcopal Church, it has recently moved to a new location on the main street
of Blair. Besides the food items traditionally stocked,
"Joseph's Coat" now offers for sale donated items of clothing,
small appliances, books, etc. From the increased community support,
both donations and purchases, the store is serving a real need in the
community. |

|
|
| Blood Mobile - When the Blood Mobile visits Blair, volunteers help serve
the donors by preparing sandwiches and drinks for them. |
 |
|
|
| Gifts for Operation Christmas Child - Members of the local
church contributed filled gift boxes to Asian tsunami relief.
Nationally there were 270,000 of these gifts. |

| The Good Samaritan Fund - a project of the Washington County
Ministerial Association, assists with the emergency needs of residents or
those passing through the community. Housing, gas, and food are
often donated. The program is funded by the Ministerial Association
but is administered by the Blair Police Department. |

Tools of Hope
"Your support of the TOOLS OF HOPE & BLANKET Program provides the
right tools at the right time, helping Church World Service make a world
of difference in the lives of people in need." The Rev. John L.
McCullough, Executive Director CWS in a letter to the church. |

|
|
| SHARE - a program that encourages service in local community
organizations by offering discounted food packages. Recipients must
perform at least two hours of community service each month. The food
for our area is distributed each month from the Blair Congregational Church. |
 |
|
|
| Election Workers - another form of community service supported by
the church is staffing local elections. |
